My only concern would be warping disc, but I've done this for nearly 40 years and never had issues. Just use gentle pressure and let it slowly ease back. Using a giant crow bar over a large flat screwdriver probably increases risk, but wheel bearings take huge forces every day, the weight of at least a quarter of the car and often more.

Robin Robert - If you buy them and don't install them yourself... Yes, you should be charged £119! LOL 😂 By your comments I guess you're quite rookie and don't know how to install brake pads. And worse didn't understand what they REALLY told you. So I'll "translate" into plain English! When you're quoted a ridiculous amount, like in this case. The workshop is telling you in a very polite way. "We don't want to do that job". Simple as that! ;-) By buying them yourself and just expecting a dirty cheap quote. For the workshop is not worth doing the job, to get what?! 5 or 10£ of so called profit. So they move on and (I repeat) politely tell you to don't bother them. Next time act like a real client. You'll see how different it is! ;-)
@@crpth1 No i don’t expect to cost me £5 or £10 mate, i have changed break pads and break disk before at a garage where they only charged me around £50... Garages charges are depends on how much time they spend on the car.. bu watching this video i now know its only take 10mins, and £119 is way too much... thats all im saying...

What size torque wrench is required?
Thank you for your comment!
In this case, you need a torque wrench with a sustained force greater than 180Nm.
